The COOLER Diamond Dry Drilling System

Diamond dry drilling with dust extraction is considered a full-fledged alternative to diamond wet drilling in masonry and soft abrasive materials. This drilling system offers many application possibilities.

The efficient, environmentally friendly diamond drilling technology for vibration-free work in old building renovation.

No water – No dust – No vibration – Low noise

Drilling diameters from 30 mm to 305 mm in masonry made of aerated concrete, sand-lime brick, pumice, brick, Poroton, and many other materials.

Especially during dry drilling in masonry, fragments are drawn by suction to the end of the drill bit and clog the suction channels.

Without additional tools, using only manual force, the drill bit can be detached, cleared, and reassembled.

The dry drilling system is modular. With a few basic elements, you can assemble a complete drilling rig yourself.

The drill bits always fit onto the dust rotor and system extensions, regardless of the drilling diameter and working length.

Operating Instructions
COOLER Diamond Dry Drilling System
Please read carefully and observe before commissioning.

The COOLER - drilling system is only permitted for dry drilling operation with dust extraction. It is essential to note that the system only functions in conjunction with suitable additional equipment such as a drive motor and dust extractor. For the operation of additional equipment such as the drive drilling machine and dust extractor, only the safety instructions and warranty provisions of the respective equipment manufacturers apply.

Commissioning

The device is intended for commercial use only and may only be operated by instructed persons.

Please proceed with commissioning step-by-step according to the following instructions:

1. Remove the drill chuck from the drive machine 1 and determine the dimensions of the connection threaded pin 1.2, e.g., Cardi T2000 MS13 = M 18 x 2.5.

2. Now screw the appropriate machine connection 2 (adapter) onto the threaded pin 1.2 of the drive machine 1.

3. Screw the pre-assembled drilling machine 1 including machine connection to the M32 x 1.5 connection thread of the dust rotor 3.

4. Mount the adjustable depth stop of the drilling machine so that the rotating dust rotor housing 3.2 cannot wobble during operation.

5. After studying the operating instructions for the drilling machine 1, briefly test run the completely screwed-on dust rotor. Ensure the smooth concentricity of the mounting shaft 3.1 of the dust rotor 3.

6. Lock your selected diamond dry drill bit 4 with the bayonet catch. Screw the locking nut 3.4 hand-tight only, without mechanical tools.

7. Insert the centering drill bit 5 into the mounting shaft 3.1 of the dust rotor 3.

8. After a thorough study of the dust extractor's operating instructions, establish the suction hose connection to the dust rotor 3.

9. First, switch on the dust extractor and check whether suction (negative pressure) is created at the front of the drilling tool.

10. Place the pre-assembled centering drill bit 5 on the intended drilling point with slight pressure.

11. Before switching on the drilling machine, ensure a secure stance so that you can maintain balance at all times. Firmly grip and hold the handle 1.1.

12. Switch on the drilling machine and drill the pilot hole with the centering drill bit 5 deep enough so that the diamond segments 4.1 mill an annular groove about 5 mm deep into the material.

13. Switch off the drilling machine after centering! After the machine has come to a complete stop, pull the centering drill bit 5 out of the mounting shaft 3.1 of the dust rotor 3 in the axial direction.

14. Insert the diamond drill bit into the pre-drilled annular groove. Switch on the drilling machine and complete the hole under constant pressure.

15. After completing the drilling, switch off the drilling machine. Pull the drilling tool out of the borehole.

16. Remove the core from the borehole. If the core has not broken off in the borehole, break it off with a chisel or screwdriver. Due to suction, the core may get stuck in the drill bit. In this case, it is essential to remove all fragments from the drill bit and the suction channel.

17. Do you want to drill deeper than the working length of your diamond dry drill bit allows? No problem, there are even two ways to drill deeper:

    a) You use another diamond dry drill bit with the same drilling diameter and sufficient working length or

    b) You use one of our system extensions, which are also coupled with the bayonet catch. Available working lengths: 200 mm, 300 mm, 400 mm, 600 mm, and 1000 mm. These system extensions can be used from a drilling diameter of 68 mm.

18. The dry drilling system is not suitable for use in reinforced concrete or similarly hard building materials.

Safety Instructions
COOLER Diamond Dry Drilling System

1. When using power tools, the basic safety measures must be observed to protect against electric shock, injury, and fire hazards.

2. Keep children away. Do not let other people touch the tool or power cable.

3. Wear safety glasses.

4. Always be alert and observe your work. Proceed reasonably.

5. Maintain your tools with care.

6. Do not misuse the equipment and tools of the diamond dry drilling system.

7. Attention!!! For your own safety, only use accessories and additional devices specified in the operating instructions or recommended by the tool manufacturer. The use of other tools or accessories can pose a risk of personal injury.

8. For "freehand drilling," only drive drilling machines with a safety clutch may be used.

9. For "freehand drilling," for safety reasons, the drilling diameter is limited in relation to the effective drilling length of the drill bit.

The following maximum limits apply for freehand drilling:

Drill bit working length 400 mm – max. drilling diameter 82 mm
Drill bit working length 300 mm – max. drilling diameter 101 mm
Drill bit working length 200 mm – max. drilling diameter 126 mm
Drill bit working length 100 mm – max. drilling diameter 201 mm

The use of the centering rod is mandatory from a drilling diameter of 126 mm

Drill a hole approx. 100 mm deep with a COOLER drill bit ø 32 mm x NL 200. Remove core.

Mount the centering rod like a centering drill bit. Insert the centering rod into the drilled hole and begin the drilling process.

After approx. 30 mm drilling depth, an annular groove has been drilled, which safely allows for drilling to be completed without the centering rod.
